Overview of Intersectoral Priority Areas PDF Print E-mail

Working intersectorally or across sectors is a priority agreed to by Member States at the 34th UNESCO General Conference in October 2007.  The New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO agreed upon a strategic plan for 2008-2009 that identified three specific intersectoral priorities.  The focus is upon Sub Commissions working in collaboration with one another, consolidating partnerships and developing and strengthening synergies with the New Zealand Government’s priorities of economic transformation, families, young and old, and national identity as well as with the relevant Pacific priorities identified at the Pacific Consultation of National Commissions held in Apia in 2007.
